Yealands Estate Wines produce award winning New Zealand wines, recently earning the title of the "World's Best Sauvignon Blanc" are the proud sponsors of the International Wine Theatre.
A highlight of the Festival, this is your chance to develop an even greater appreciation and understanding of Wine from around the world in a relaxed, fun interactive environment with some of the most well-known and respected wine experts in the UK, including our MC and presenter Neil Phillips, the Wine Tipster.
Each seated tutored tasting involves sampling over the course of 45 minutes. The tastings are about learning through enjoyment, enabling you to understand the range and diversity of wine available today. Join Yealands Estate over the three days and experience the true taste of award winning New Zealand wine!
Each talk is limited to 70 people, this is to ensure we can give the best possible talks and devote time and attention to the wines. After each talk the marquee will be cleared so we can set up for the next talk. The talks are free to attend and are on a first come first in basis. We are trying to encourage people to (a) look at the packaging, use of cork and glass, which means thinking outside the box; and (b) what is in the wine that they are drinking, is it 'green' in the making as well as the carbon footprint.
Hopefully by then we will also have our 2nd high quality wine in a box. And we have a couple of wines that are made with completely natural yeasts and traditional methods, one is even traditionally foot trodden!
May be of wide appeal to the audience, especially to those finding it hard to drink wines without a reaction.

Podere Sant’Alberto is a small, family-run estate located 10 miles north of Siena, set in the foothills below Castellina in Chianti. The estate covers 12 ha of vines, olive groves and mixed woodlands on a sloping terrain of clay with limestone deposits, sandstone and marine fossils at an elevation of 250metres.
We will be featuring the following wines:
Terenzuola Vermentino 2013, from the coastal border between Tuscany and Liguria. The Mediterranean helps to keep this wine fresh and zesty. A wonderful wine to enjoy with the native pesto or seafood.
Val delle Corti Chianti Classico 2010, Tre Bicchieri award winning and an outstanding example of terroir driven Sangiovese found in Radda in Chianti.
Riserva del Padrone, Podere Sant'Alberto IGT 2009. A wonderful example of when French varieties thrive in the warmer vineyards in Tuscany. A full bodied Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot blend with a touch of new oak.

Laura will introduce you to a wide range of great value Bordeaux wines from across the region. There are very good reasons why Bordeaux is known for producing some of the best wines in the world: find out what they are and taste some of the best and most affordable.
Laura is an experienced and accomplished wine presenter with particular interests in Bordeaux and Champagne but whose expertise covers wine regions from all around the world. She is proud to be an International Accredited Bordeaux Tutor and was UK Champagne Ambassador in 2010. Her enthusiasm and love for the subject is clear in all her tastings and presentations. Most of her work involves delivering talks and tastings, instilling an interest and love of the subject in consumers and having a lot of fun in the process! For some, wine is a science but for Laura drinking wine is all about pleasure; she believes a little knowledge goes a long way in increasing that pleasurable experience.
Laura’s business BYWine, whose motto is 'Know More, Buy Better', provides guidance to its members to experiment, to feel more confident when buying and ultimately to enjoy great wine. Laura is the current Chairman of the Association of Wine Educators, is a member of the Circle of Wine Writers, a contributor to several local magazines, she writes a blog and is a Senior Judge for the International Wine Challenge.

Having been founded in 1879, CVNE is one of the most historic names not just in Rioja, but also the whole of Spain.
The company is based in the Rioja Alta’s beautiful capital Haro and very much remains a family run concern. One of the most exciting things about CVNE is the way in which it has embraced change without sacrificing its heritage. This mix of ancient and modern is artfully represented in its exciting portfolio of wines which invariably combines quality, value and true Riojan terroir.
This tasting will show red, white and rosado wines from the CVNE range and will culminate with the legendary and age-worthy Imperial Reserva, which is only ever made in the finest vintages.

In the course of his career he has collected several writing awards including Wine Feature Writer of the Year in 2001, 2002, 2005, 2010 and 2012. There's a small region of Central Europe on the northernmost part of the Adriatic Sea that used to be Italian but after the Second World War was divided into three countries - Italy, Slovenia and Croatia. Whilst borders, names and languages have changed, are the grapes planted around Trieste and Capo d'Istria still the same across these three countries?
