PODERE SANT' ALBERTO WINE & OLIVE OIL with Chris Brierley

Friday 14th @ 12:30

Podere Sant Alberto is a small, family-run estate, located 10 miles north of Siena, Tuscany, between the fortified villages of San Gimignano, Monteriggioni and Castellina in Chianti. We make two contrasting wine styles; our Sangiovese del Podere wine is made from old vines and is a classic example from the region, and also a sophisticated Riserva del Padrone using Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot, with a touch of new oak. Our extra virgin olive oil is low-yield, which we supply to Michelin starred restaurants.

A dash across South America with Santa Rita Estates

Friday 14th @ 18:00

Chile and Argentina have both been making wine since the 19th century but it is only in relatively recent times that they have made a priority of producing wine styles that appeal to export markets. And what astonishing progress they have both made. If you ask wine professionals which countries offer the most compelling combination of quality and value, most would point to Chile and/or Argentina.

This tasting will feature wines from Santa Rita Estates, a hugely important producer whose roots go back well over 100 years in Chile’s Maipo Valley and who are becoming an increasingly important player in Argentina’s premium vineyard area, the Uco Valley. Santa Rita have been pioneers in trying to identify the regions and climates best suited to the world’s great grape varieties, a search that has taken them to the desert in the north and over the Andes to Mendoza. The search continues, but the results are well worth tasting along the way!

This tasting will be presented by Richard Bampfield, one of only 300 Masters of Wine in the world, Chairman of the Association of Wine Educators and an enthusiastic traveller of the world’s wine regions and equally enthusiastic taster.

Introducing Bordeaux Wines

Sunday 16th @ 13:00

Bordeaux is about enjoying the moment with a wine that suits your palate and setting.

The Bordeaux Wine Council is delighted to invite you to a tour of the famous wine region, where you will explore the versatile world of Bordeaux with our wine expert Laura Clay. From refreshing and crisp whites to deliciously fruity or full bodied reds, Bordeaux has a lot to offer at very affordable prices.

Many of the vineyards are still family-owned and blending grapes has become an art – Cabernet and Merlot for the reds, Sauvignon Blanc and Sémillon for the whites – resulting in wines of character and diversity whose subtle style makes them especially good with food.

Come and hear about and taste our special Bordeaux Selection recommended by the Association of Wine Educators. We hope you will enjoy the many delights that are in store for you!

About the CIVB
The Bordeaux Wine Council was created in 1948 and today represents nearly 8,700 Bordeaux wine producers and growers, and 400 négociants.

Celebrate With Brasil

Sunday 16th @ 16:00

With the World Cup and the Olympics on the horizon, everyone has their eyes on Brazil. Get on board and enjoy the exciting times ahead with Brazilian wines!

The diversity of the climate, the topography and the exceptional creativity of the Brazilian people are forces that have created a completely unique wine growing and wine making industry. Winemaking traditions from Europe were brought to Brasil by thousands of Italian immigrants in the 19th Century. Today, this traditional approach, combined with major investments in new technology and innovation, has resulted in a viniferous force to be reckoned with.

About The Wines
Sparkling wines, Merlot and Moscato are a highlight, but Brasil is able to produce wines with widely different characteristics. However, they all have one thing in common – they are young, fresh and fruity with moderate levels of alcohol. This wine style matches perfectly with the Brazilian way of life: genuine and happy people with the ability to produce products to please different tastes and consumers.
