Yealands Estate Wines produce award winning New Zealand wines, recently earning the title of the "World's Best Sauvignon Blanc" are the proud sponsors of the International Wine Theatre.
A highlight of the Festival, this is your chance to develop an even greater appreciation and understanding of Wine from around the world in a relaxed, fun interactive environment with some of the most well-known and respected wine experts in the UK, including our MC and presenter Neil Phillips, the Wine Tipster.
Each seated tutored tasting involves sampling over the course of 45 minutes. The tastings are about learning through enjoyment, enabling you to understand the range and diversity of wine available today. Join Yealands Estate over the three days and experience the true taste of award winning New Zealand wine!
Each talk is limited to 70 people, this is to ensure we can give the best possible talks and devote time and attention to the wines. After each talk the marquee will be cleared so we can set up for the next talk. The talks are free to attend and are on a first come first in basis. Some claim that Côtes du Rhône is simply too plain to ever have real sex appeal but quality of both grape-growing and wine making has made huge strides in the last 30 years. Lots more characterful wines are being made, and this tasting presents six good examples from a wide source of retailers at different price points – we’ve tasted dozens to find the best for you, including some Côtes du Rhône-Villages, and have also included a good Australian copy by way of comparison.
This presentation is given by Nick Gay, of Oxford Chelt Wine School, an independent wine school specialising in fun, informal tastings designed to appeal to all lovers of wine, no experience required! Our tastings take place regularly at the Wilson Café and Hotel du Vin in Cheltenham and at St Peter’s College, Oxford.

This selection of Cru Bourgeois wines from the vintages of 2011 and 2012 is a great way to discover and experience fabulous wines from the world-renowned Bordeaux region.
The Cru Bourgeois name can only be applied to wines which are approved by the Official Selection process, organised by The Alliance des Crus Bourgeois du Médoc, which takes place on an annual basis and is open to all producers from the eight famous Médoc appellations: Médoc, Haut-Médoc, Listrac-Médoc, Moulis, Margaux, Saint Julien, Pauillac and Saint Estèphe.

"Discovering Tuscan Wine Country" with Chris Brierley - Podere Sant'Alberto

Podere Sant’Alberto is located 10 miles north of Siena, Tuscany, set in the foothills below Castellina in Chianti. The estate covers 12 ha of vines, olive groves and mixed woodlands on a sloping terrain of clay with limestone deposits, at an elevation of 250metres. Chris, together with his family, has worked the small estate since 2007.
Never has the Italian wine scene been more dynamic. We are spoiled for choice, with a wealth of wines on offer that communicate the passion of vine growers and winemakers for their land.
The talk will showcase the wines that Podere Sant’Alberto produces in the hills of Chianti, and compare other examples of white and red wines located at either higher altitudes or found closer to the coast of Tuscany.
