By Road

Cheltenham couldn’t be easier to get to –

  • Cheltenham is located off junctions 10 and 11 of the M5 motorway and on the A40 from London and Oxford. Junction 10 has restricted access and only southbound traffic can exit the motorway here. From junction 11, follow the signs for Cheltenham Town Centre along the A40.
  • AA Festival Direction Road Signs are in place on all major roads leading into Cheltenham directing you to the Festival.

Car parks are situated in various locations around Cheltenham.  Some are shown on the map below.  Cheltenham is busy so plan your parking arrangements in advance or better still use public transpot to travel to the town centre.

Park & Ride Services

Two park and ride services are currently available which we recommend visitors use - one is located just off the A40 near the motorway and the other is located on the north side of the town at Cheltenham Racecourse. Please ensure you check on operating times.

By Rail

Cheltenham Spa station is well served by direct services from London Paddington, Bristol, Birmingham, Swindon, Cardiff, Plymouth, Manchester, Edinburgh and Glasgow. The railway station is located on the outskirts of the town centre and is well served by bus services into the shopping centre.

Gloucestershire has its own airport at Staverton, which is approximately 3 miles outside Cheltenham. This airport has direct flights to Jersey and a charter service. www.gloucestershireairport.co.uk

The nearest international airport is Birmingham International Airport who offer a wide variety of European and intercontinental flights. Birmingham is approximately 50 miles north of Cheltenham.
